UPPER MANHATTAN — Straphangers in Washington Heights and Inwood are bracing for continued 1 train delays and detours as the MTA continues its 20-month rehabilitation of the northernmost stops on the line.

There will be no 1 train service between 168th and West 242nd street each weekend throughout October, with the exception of Columbia's Homecoming on Oct. 23, when the 1 train will run on a regular schedule, according to Columbia University’s website.

Throughout the rest of the month, weekend riders trying to reach northern 1 train stops can take a shuttle bus that will stop at 168th, 181st and 191st streets on St. Nicholas Avenue, or they can take the A train. There will also be a free shuttle bus on Broadway between 211th Street and 242nd Street in the Bronx.

The MTA will continue running its shuttle bus for Columbia's games at Baker Field on Oct. 2 and Oct. 9, with service running between the A train’s 211th Street and Broadway exit and Baker Field at 218th Street and Broadway.
