Woman Tries to Steal $1500 Worth of Merchandise From Bed, Bath & Beyond

TRIBECA — A would-be shoplifter tried to leave a TriBeCa Bed Bath & Beyond with more than $1,500 worth of stolen merchandise, including $930 in bedding, a clock and oven mitts, police said

Claudine Polycarpe, 25, from Brooklyn, was charged with grand larceny after staff at Bed Bath & Beyond at 270 Greenwich St. stopped her about 9 p.m. on Sept. 9, authorities said.

The staff said she'd tried to steal $930 in bedding, $120 in window treatments, a $50 clock, oven mitts, salad plates, towels and more.
