MANHATTAN — In the first game of the New York Liberty’s playoff series against the Indiana Fever, Cappie Pondexter dazzled the crowd with 28 points to lead her team to an easy 85-73 win.

Now, with the Liberty in Indiana for the second game of the best-of-three series, the question on everyone's mind is can she do it again.

But Pondexter is no stranger to the WNBA playoff pressure.

She's won two of the past three championships as a member of the Phoenix Mercury, even taking the Finals MVP award in 2007.

And with a dominating win on Thursday, she's feeling confident for Sunday night's matchup against the Fever in Indianapolis.

"The first [game] in my opinion is always the most important because it sets the tone for the series," Pondexter told reporters. "Even though they are thinking in the back of their head, that they have a chance at home."

The game will be broadcast on ESPN2 at 8 p.m.

A win would give the Liberty a sweep in the series and advance the team to the conference finals, while a loss would send the series back to New York for the third and deciding game.

The Liberty last made the conference finals in 2008. The franchise has never won a title.
