MANHATTAN — Rep. Carolyn Maloney and Reshma Saujani are arguing over who supports the downtown mosque plans more, the Daily News reported.

Despite taking the same position, Maloney and Saujani are bickering over who has been more vocal about backing plans to build a community center that includes a mosque two blocks from Ground Zero, according to the paper.

The two will face each other in a Sept. 14 primary for the Democratic nomination for the 14th Congressional district which runs from the southern part of East Harlem to the East Village and includes Astoria, Queens.

Saujani accused Maloney of "a lack of political courage."

"Carolyn Maloney has released one minor statement on Aug. 5 ... since then she's been silent," Saujani told the News.

Maloney told the paper her support is unequivocal.

"We sent out a statement weeks ago," Maloney said. "I mean, do you have to make a statement every day on the same thing?"
