Counterfeit Salesman Resists Arrest

A 41-year-old Queens man selling counterfeit Rolex watches at the corner of Canal and Greene streets at noon on July 31 swung his arms and kicked the officers who arrested him, causing the officers to fall to the ground, police said.

Police arrested Buddha Bhikku and charged him with second-degree assault, third-degree trademark counterfeiting and resisting arrest, according to a spokeswoman for the Manhattan District Attorney. Bhikku was released pending an Octobter 27 court date, the spokeswoman said.

Forged Credit Cards

Police arrested three men outside the True Religion Jeans store at 132 Prince St. on the evening of July 30 after they allegedly used forged credit cards to buy more than $1,000 worth of merchandise at the store.

The three accused men — Reginald Jones, 20, Travis Woodbury, 20, and Jason Green, 24 — were each charged with three counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree and one count of petit larceny, police and a spokeswoman for the Manhattan District Attorney said.

Green allegedly resisted arrest and waved his arms as he attempted to dump a rubber glove containing 24 envelopes of heroin, police said. He was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, the DA’s office said.

Jones and Woodbury were also charged with possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, the DA’s office said.

Cross-Dressing Shoplifter

A man wearing a wig and a long dress stuffed a $2,695 Balenciaga leather jacket into his underwear in an attempt to steal it from the Kirna Zabete boutique at 96 Greene Street at noon on August 4, police said.

An employee of the store confronted the shoplifter when she saw him pulling his dress down to conceal the merchandise. When she lifted his dress and grabbed the olive-green jacket out of his underwear, the man fled to a car waiting nearby, police said.

Police are seeking a 50-year-old balck man, 6 feet tall, 190 pounds.

Wallet Stolen

A 20-year-old Brooklyn man was tying his shoes on Vandam Street near Varick Street shortly before 1 p.m. on August 2 when another man bumped into him, stole the wallet from his back pants pocket and fled, police said.

The victim lost $20 in cash along with his driver’s license and credit cards. The suspect is described as a 25-year-old black man, 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing jeans and a white T-shirt or tank top, police said.

iPad Grabbed

A 50-year-old New Jersey woman was holding her $500 iPad in her hand at the corner of Varick and Franklin streets around 3:20 p.m. August 2 when a man grabbed it and fled, police said.

Police described the suspect as an 18-year-old black man, 6 feet 2 inches tall, 190 pounds.

Boutique Theft

A woman who entered the Max Azria boutique at 409 W. Broadway at 3 p.m. July 25 stole two dresses valued at a total of $3,800 while her two companions distracted the staff, police said.

The thief is described as a 20-year-old black woman, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 135 pounds, wearing a red skirt with gold sandals, with a rose tattoo on her torso.

The two people with her were a 40-year-old black woman, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 175 pounds, and a 30-year-old black woman, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 225 pounds, wearing jeans and a brown T-shirt or tank top, also with a rose tattoo on her torso, police said.

Two Motorcycles Stolen

A motorcycle and a scooter were stolen from the 1st Precinct in the past two weeks.

First, a 36-year-old SoHo man parked his $3,500 white Vespa scooter at Spring and Mercer streets at 6 p.m. on July 26 and returned at 8 a.m. the following morning to find it was gone, police said.

The next week, a worker at Pepolino Restaurant, 281 West Broadway, who parked his Aprilia Scarabeo motorbike in the restaurant’s courtyard shortly after midnight Aug. 3 returned the following morning at 8 a.m. to find it was gone.
