MANHATTAN — A man thought to be in his 50s was pronounced dead after he was pulled from the East River Monday night near the South Street Seaport, police said.
The unidentified man was pulled out of the water at Pier 11 around 9:10 p.m. by the Harbor Unit, according to police.
Medical responders pronounced him dead on the scene, police said.
The cause of death is unknown at this time, and an investigation is ongoing, the NYPD said.
