MANHATTAN — An East Harlem mom made her 25-year-old son turn himself in to the police after discovering that he robbed over $2,000 from a bank, authorities told the New York Post Sunday.

“You have to turn yourself in because you did something bad and you have to pay the price,” the 53-year-old mom said to her son, Luis Cruz, according to the Post.

Cruz, apologized to his mother and then went to the local police station house with his girlfriend to surrender.

He was allegedly high on crack when he robbed the Chase Bank on East 116th Street at 8:30 a.m. Monday, the Post reported. Cruz allegedly simulated a gun by reaching into his waistband and passed the teller note during the robbery.
