MANHATTAN — Music superstar John Legend was set to perform Sunday in an open air concert that kicks off a celebration of Harlem.

Legend will sing at "A Concert Under the Stars" - the official launch of the 36th annual Harlem Week.

The celebration, which actually lasts all summer, will bring more than 155 events to the neighborhood until the end of August, highlighting music, art, history and education in venues across Harlem.

Legend's show, which concludes a day packed full of events at U.S. Grant National Memorial Park on West 122nd Street, will salute soul icon Teddy Pendergrass, who died in January.

Sunday’s events also included a fashion show and gospel choir showcase.
