MANHATTAN — Bank robbers held up two Manhattan branches Saturday, passing notes demanding cash but fleeing when staff hit panic buttons.

The first heist happened at 9:52 a.m. when a man wearing a black shirt and baseball cap walked into the Chase Bank at 330 West 145th Street.

He fled empty handed as police rushed to the scene.

At 12:36 p.m., another would-be robber wearing a red T-shirt, a black baseball cap and a single glove walked into a Chase Bank at East 69th Street.

He handed a teller a note demanding cash, and fled when she set off an alarm.

Nobody was injured at either branch and no weapons were seen, police said.

NYPD figures show there have been 109 bank robberies in New York City this year through July 18, the Daily News reported.

That's a 27 percent drop on last year.

No arrests had been made in the latest incidents as of Sunday morning.
