UPPER EAST SIDE —  LeBron James wasn't the only prize New York tangled with Ohio over this month — the states were also in competition for $25,000 in non-profit grant money, and this time New York was victorious.

The Nourishing Kitchen of NYC, a non-profit providing emergency food assistance to residents of East Harlem, was rewarded with the grant for their "Junior Chefs Program," which teaches kids 6 to 14 from low-income homes about healthy cooking.

The program had been neck-and-neck with Ohio nonprofit "Power Up 4 Fitness," to win the Post Grant for Good Health.

"It's great to get the support and we know that we're doing something right," said Gina Puzzanghera, head chef and founder at the kitchen.

"It's finally working," Puzzanghera said of the group's efforts to bring affordable, healthy foods to East Harlem

Nourishing Kitchen head Chef Gina Puzzanghera (L.) accepts the $25,000 Post Grant for Good Health. The grant will allow the kitchen to distribute a free curriculum of its Junior Chefs Program.

The grant money will go toward paying the costs of the kitchen's Junior Chef's Program and will help to provide the curriculum free of charge online, Puzzanghera said.
