He was scheduled to appear in court July 16.

When she returned two hours later, she found a side window smashed and her purse, containing credit cards and $40 in cash, was gone.

Based on surveillance footage, police are seeking two men in connection with the burglary. One is described as 20 years old, 5 feet, 9 inches and 150 pounds, with close-cut hair. The other is described as 20 years old, 5 feet, 10 inches, 160 pounds, with a shaved head.

Wallets Lifted

Eight wallets worth a total of $2,000 disappeared from the Valeria Smith store, 85 Mercer St. near Spring Street, around 4 p.m. on July 10, police said.

Backpack Unzipped

A 68-year-old woman from Canada was boarding a bus on Broadway near Broome Street at 4 p.m. on July 9 when another passenger pointed out that her backpack was unzipped, police said.

The woman discovered that her wallet, containing credit cards, a Canadian passport and $25 cash, was missing.

Numerous unauthorized charges were made on her credit and debit cards, police said.
