MANHATTAN — Manhattanites should prepare themselves for yet another round of scorching temperatures as a heat wave hits the area once again, forecasters said.

Highs will climb into the mid 90s on Friday and are expected to stay there through the weekend along with humid weather and lots of sun, according to AccuWeather.

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory in effect through Saturday at 6 p.m. The city will reopen cooling centers on Friday and Saturday to help New Yorkers beat the extreme heat.

Con Edison has again requested that residents and businesses conserve energy by setting air conditioners to 78 degrees and running dishwashers, washing machines and other appliances in the morning or evenings when it's cooler.

This heat wave comes just nine days after record-breaking, triple-digit temperatures scorched New York.
