EAST HARLEM — Manhattan's first Target, opening in East Harlem July 25, will feature lines from neighborhood stars including Chef Marcus Samuelsson and designers Isabel and Ruben Toledo.

The store, located at 116th Street and Pleasant Avenue, will include swimwear designed by the Toledos, housewares by Samuelsson and clothing by Stephen Burrows.

Five percent of the proceeds from the exclusive lines, dubbed the "Harlem Collection," will benefit local non-profits, including El Museo del Barrio, The Young Women's Leadership School of East Harlem and Harlem P.S. 180.

Each collection features nods to East Harlem, from Samuelsson's bilingual kitchen place mats to Toledo's beach towel homages to El Museo del Barrio.

Signature elements from the artists, like Burrows asymmetrical lines and ruffles, have all been translated into items priced between $17.99 and $34.00.

All of the items will be sold at select East Coast stores and online beginning August 1, but Manhattan residents will be able to buy them a week in advance, when the store opens July 25.

Marcus Samuelsson's kitchen designs for the opening of the new East Harlem Target feature neighborhood references to El Barrio and East 116th Street. These retail for $4.99 each.
