Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino Inspires Fans at Midtown GNC Store Updated July 2, 2010 6:07am

MANHATTAN — With the new season of the hit MTV show "Jersey Shore" premiering in less than a month, fans lined up to see Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino as he promoted his new vitamin supplement at the GNC store on West 57th St.

Christina Phillips, 17, and her three friends drove up from Philadelphia to come see their favorite reality show star.

"I was nervous when I got up there," said Philips, who scored an autograph and a picture with the star. "I don't know why."

Daniel Beck and Novert Albera, both 18, are huge fans of "Jersey Shore" and came in from Brooklyn to meet the Situation. They found out about the event through Sorrentino's Twitter account.

"He's my idol," said Albera.

Sorrentino signed everything from t-shirts to newspaper articles, and rhapsodized about Manhattan during his Midtown visit.

"I just love that it's a lot of action," he said. "Everybody's always moving and I love that."
