MANHATTAN After much anticipation, New Yorkers finally have their hands on the coveted iPhone 4.
Customers who came trickling out of the Apple Store on Fifth Avenue were ecstatic Thursday to have the company's newest gadget, while thousands still waited in line outside.
"It's awesome!" Manhattan resident Douglas Housman, 32, gushed after he came out the Apple Store. "I was not cool before I got the original iPhone. Now, I've gone from cool to cooler."
Like many other New Yorkers that waited in line, Housman had pre-ordered his phone on June 15, the first day the option was available.
Who does he plan to call first?
"My girlfriend," Housman said. "She's insanely jealous that I have a new one."
The most exciting feature about the new phone was the ability to video-chat, although people also listed assets like the smaller, lighter model, the battery length, and the new flash feature.
"The biggest thing for me is that I love taking pictures and travelling," Queens resident Anna Saenz, 28, said. "Now that this has a flash, I can take pictures at night wherever I go."
Some people didn't know why they wanted to get the new phone-- just that they were excited to get it.
"It's new," Manhattan resident Yashava Simmons, 25, said. "What else would I get?"
