MANHATTAN — After months of speculation about a relationship between Alex Rodriguez and Cameron Diaz, the Hollywood starlet told Playboy magazine the only relationship she’s been having is “with myself,” US Weekly reported on Tuesday.
"No, no, no," said Diaz, 37, when asked if she and A-Rod were an item.
"I've been in relationships since I was 16 years old,” added the star of the upcoming action-comedy, “Knight and Day.”
“In the past three years I’ve made a conscious decision not to be in a relationship for as long as I want. I've stayed away from all the traps out there for me to just fall into something that will potentially lead me down the same road…I want to have a relationship with myself right now."
Diaz and A-Rod had purportedly been an item since February, when they met at a Super Bowl party in Miami.
Last month, the "couple" made news when a gossip blog reported that the Yankee slugger told Diaz to stay away from the stadium, lest she get "too clingy, too fast."
If space is what A-Rod wanted, it looks like Diaz just gave it to him.
