MANHATTAN — When "Big Love" star Chloë Sevigny told Bust magazine that she was considering applying to her local community board, it got DNAinfo's wheels turning about other civic-minded celebrities who might be interested in joining up.

Some of the picks were obvious — TriBeCa-obsessed actor Robert De Niro for Community Board 1, Upper West Side icon Jerry Seinfeld for CB 7 — while others required a deep understanding of New York City's neighborhoods and residents.

Long forgotten "CHiPs" star Erik Estrada for CB 11 in his native East Harlem and one-woman-community-watch Naomi Campbell for CB 6 in Murray Hill, where she once had an apartment.

Anderson Cooper might have run into trouble with community advocates when he turned an abandoned West Village firehouse into his bachelor pad, but we doubt anyone would kick him out of bed…if bed were the meeting place of CB 2.

Pop star Lady Gaga, designer Ralph Lauren and basketball great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar also made the list. See the above map for the rest of our celebrity community board picks.
