Manhattan — Mayor Michael Bloomberg met privately with President Barack Obama on Thursday afternoon to discuss anti-terror funding, just one day after city pols expressed outrage over the White House’s decision to cut millions from New York City’s security budget, reported Politico.

Bloomberg refrained from publicly criticizing the administration after news broke in the wake of the Times Square car bomb plot that more than $50 million would be slashed from the city's anti-terror budget.

“I will be seeing the president this afternoon and will be talking with him personally about it,” Bloomberg said on Thursday, according to Politico.

The mayor said he was "always optimistic that my face time" with the president would help New York City, Politico reported.
