One Man Killed, Another Injured in East Harlem Shooting

EAST HARLEM — One man was killed and another was injured in a shooting Wednesday night in East Harlem, police said.

Thomas Kearse, 27, was shot in the chest and killed in the fourth floor hallway of 1952 Second Ave., between 101st and 102nd streets, police said. Another man, 22, was shot in the back.

He was taken to Lincoln Hospital where he was listed in serious but stable condition, police said.

Kearse was rushed to Metropolitan Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Emergency responders were seen performing CPR on one of the victims on a video shot at the scene.

There were no suspects and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
