MANHATTAN — From the Australian outback to the Great White Way — the hit movie "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" will debut on Broadway, according to media reports.

The 1994 hit about two drag queens and a transsexual's journey to a cabaret show, is expected to open next March, according to The Australian.

The musical will likely open at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on West 46th Street, which is the current home of "In the Heights," the paper reported.

The role of Adam/Felicia, originally played by Guy Pearce, may be filled by "West Side Story's" Matt Cavenaugh, according to celebrity gossip website PerezHilton.com.

Will Swenson of "Hair" will play Tick/Mitzy and Tony Sheldon, who currently stars in the London cast of "Priscilla," will continue to play the character Bernadette while on Broadway, according to the website.
