UPPER EAST SIDE — Is it a teapot or a sculpture, a sitting bench or an art installation?

The designs and sculptures featured in the 13th annual International Exposition of Scuplture Objects and Functional Arts at the Park Avenue Armory blur the lines between the usefulness of everyday objects and the beauty they can bring to daily life.

The show will run from from April 16-19 at the Armory on 643 Park Avenue, with a special preview April 15.

Christa Assad's "Transformer Teapot" resembles an 1800s steamer ship, with tea spouts standing in for smoke stacks.

Like Assad's work, George Nakashima's wooden bench and table play with irregular shapes for household objects.
