CENTRAL PARK— More than 7,500 runners enjoyed perfect weather over the weekend for the Scotland 10K race in Central Park, run by the New York Road Runners Club.

Ethiopian long-distance runner Ketema Nigusse won the race with a time of 29:35, and 23-year-old Columbia University grad and New York Athletic Club member Stephanie Lenihan won the womens' division with a time of 36:29.

Manhattanite Philip Kiriwot Kandie, who also competes for the West Side Runners, placed seventh. The local running club had 7 of the top 10 places in the men's team club racing division.

The next New York Road Runners event is the 8th annual Run As One JP Morgan Chase 4-mile race in Central Park. Funds from the April 11 race will go toward supporing lung cancer research.
