FINANCIAL DISTRICT — A selection of intimate and personal voice recordings of people's Sept. 11 experiences are now part of the 9/11 Memorial Preview Site.
At the site, visitors can enter a booth to record their own Sept. 11 stories as well as listen to narratives from survivors, rescue workers, witnesses, service providers and others impacted by the attacks.
The collection already contains more than 1,000 recordings.
"Very little people have heard the sound of plane engines when they are at full strength, full force, flying up in the sky," said Bruno Dellinger a survivor from the 44th floor of the North tower. "It's one sound that comes back to me and haunts me at occasions."
