MANHATTAN — One of three suspects being questioned in the Sunday stabbing deaths of two men at the Christopher Street subway station has implicated himself in the crime, police said on Thursday.
No arrests have been made, and no charges have been filed thus far, police said.
Darnell Morel and Ricardo Williams, both 24 and from Brooklyn, were killed on the downtown train after a run-in on their way home from a Midtown bar with a group of friends about 5 a.m. on Sunday.
A third man, Mark Joseph, was cut in the back of the neck and the arm, but survived.
The attack happened after one of the men in the group reportedly threw some trash off the train, which hit the suspect.
The suspect reportedly fled the subway from the Christopher Street station, but the search had been complicated by the fact that no security cameras are installed there and no station agents are posted at the underground location.
The NYPD described the suspect on Tuesday as a Hispanic male, about 25 years old, between 5-foot-10 and 6-feet tall, with a medium build.
The suspect, who injured another man in the incident, was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a waist-length black leather jacket, according to the NYPD's description.
