MANHATTAN — Alex Rodriguez notched the Yankees’ first hit of the season, but it was Colin Curtis’ three-run homer in the ninth inning that gave the Bronx Bombers their first win of the Grapefruit Season.

For Rodriguez, the on-field action was a welcome respite from the questions about the federal investigation into Dr. Anthony Galea.

Rodriguez, who admitted earlier that he was cooperating with authorities on the investigation, shrugged off reporters after the Yanks 6-3 win over the Pirates.

“Nothing’s new,” he said before the game, according to the New York Daily News.

Sources told the New York Times that the Yankees' slugger had been treated by Galea, who is under investigation for allegedly trying to smuggle HGH into the United States from Canada.

The drama for the Yankees continues on field as well, as Joba Chamberlain and Phil Hughes try to protect their battle for the fifth spot in the pitching lineup from expanding. Chad Gaudin, Sergio Mitre and Alfredo Aceves combined for six scoreless innings in the Yankees’ win on Wednesday.

On Thursday, C.C. Sabathia will get the start against the Phillies.
