MANHATTAN — This just in: singer John Mayer has behaved inappropriately — this time at the NoLIta nightclub La Esquina.

"He was drinking and saying vulgar things to the girls at the bar," a source told the Daily News. "He was hitting on one pretty brunette in particular, but she found him slimy because he was being so over-the-top."

Mayer’s downtown “creeping” followed two sold-out shows Thursday and Friday at Madison Square Garden.

During one of the shows Mayer thanked the crowd for their support and vowed to clean up his act following a scandalous interview with Playboy magazine, according to the News.

“Thank you guys for believing that I am not an a**… It's a clean 'me' now, people. Clean me," he said.

In the Playboy interview, Mayer discussed his love of porn, related intimate details about his relationship with singer Jessica Simpson and made controversial comments about African-American women.

Though the La Esquina incident occurred only blocks away from Mayer’s SoHo loft, the source told the News that the woman he was courting "definitely didn't go home with that sleaze."
