MANHATTAN — With Walt Frazier, Willis Reed, Bill Bradley and other Knick greats on hand at Madison Square Garden for "Legends Night," Knick fans were amped up for a show. What they got was a horror show.

Tracy McGrady, welcome to the Knicks.

It was 40 years ago when the Knicks won their first championship with many of the assembled legends, and the team almost looked equally far away from winning another one after losing to the Milwaukee Bucks Monday night 83-67. It was their worst-scoring game of the season.

Adding injury to insult, McGrady, the newest Knicks star acquired in a three-team trade last week who on Saturday inspired Knick fans to dare to dream that good days were ahead, hurt his knee in the game.

McGrady was visibly dragging his leg before begging out of the game, the Daily News reported.

"He asked out," coach Mike D'Antoni said in a press conference afterwards. "He was kind of limping and stuff."

Before coming to the Knicks, McGrady had microfracture surgery on his left knee last year.

The normally dazzling playmaker shot a dismal 5 of 14 for 15 points and gave away two turnovers. In his Garden debut on Saturday, he had 26 points.

The team shot 33.8 percent from the floor, and only managed to put up just 26 points in the second half.

Despite his injury, McGrady said he wouldn’t rule himself out for the Knicks’ next game. They take on the Celtics Tuesday night in Boston, and face former teammate and fan favorite Nate Robinson.
