BATTERY PARK CITY — Governor David Paterson has nominated former city comptroller and 2013 mayoral candidate William Thompson to head the Battery Park City Authority.
Thompson, who was replaced as comptroller by John Liu, will receive the formal nomination from the governor early next week and then will go through a State Senate confirmation process, a spokesperson for the governor said.
“I know from following the NYC Comptroller's Office for many years of Mr. Thompson's love for Battery Park City and I'm happy to have someone with his great executive background at the heart of our community," said Tom Goodkind, a member of Community Board 1's Battery Park City committee.
