CENTRAL PARK — Royalty debuted at the Central Park Zoo as four King penguins introduced themselves to excited visitors this week.

The penguins, whose names are Lyle, Slappy, Will and Robert are adjusting nicely to their new home, zookeepers said.

The new additions to the zoo are part of a revamped exhibit in the penguin house and have attracted a lot of interest from visitors, including one child who jumped outside the front gates of the zoo imitating the birds.

Lyle, Slappy, Will and Robert appeared to be cohabitating nicely with the dozens of other penguins at the zoo, much to the delight of excited children — and their parents.

Zoo director Jeff Saller told the Daily News that the King penguins seemed to follow the 36-pound Slappy.
