Guests at a Fashion Week after-party apparently mistook photographs and wall murals for gift bags.

Organizers of the Keith Haring by House of Field party, held at the Hudson Hotel last Thursday, told the New York Post that two-dozen Ken Haring-inspired photographs disappeared from the walls.

The works included photos of Mark Ronson, and other celebrities who knew Haring, who died of AIDS 20 years ago this month.

The works, which organizer estimated to be worth tens of thousands of dollars, were supposed to head to Tokyo on a Keith Haring exhibition sources told the Post. They were eventually to be auctioned off to benefit the Keith Haring Foundation, according to the source.

But a rep from the Hudson Hotel said the disappearance of the photos may not be theft.

“They are just photo prints, not original Keith Haring works,” a Hudson Hotel spokesperson told the Post. “I’m not sure if it was really a theft. Guests may have believed the pictures were there to be taken.”

Organizers told the Post they are holding off on calling the cops until they do more of an internal investigation.
