MANHATTAN — Famed chef Fabio Trabocchi left his post as executive chef of the Four Seasons restaurant in Midtown East on Tuesday.

The New York Times cites a publicist for the restaurant saying the split can be blamed on "philosophical differences."

Trabocchi, who was the executive chef at SoHo restaurant Fiamma until the recession forced its closing in January 2009, began his brief run at the Four Seasons on Oct. 5 of last year.

Some were skeptical of Trabocchi's appointment at the Four Seasons when it was announced, as the chef's Italian heritage guided his cuisine. The Four Seasons offers a traditionally Euro-American menu.

Others, like Food & Wine editor Dana Cowin, thought the pairing of Trabocchi with the Four Seasons was "like two puzzle pieces that are meant to be together," she told Time Out New York.

There is no word as to what the chef's next move will be, or as to who will replace him in the kitchen of one of the most iconic dining rooms in Manhattan.
