MIDTOWN — The creator of the popular Manhattan food blog Midtown Lunch is defecting to the West Coast at the end of the month, according to a post Monday morning.

Zach Brooks, the 33 year-old creator of the blog that is dedicated to exploring and recommending lunchtime dining options for those working in the culinary wasteland of Midtown, announced on the site that he will be moving to Los Angeles at the end of the month.

He did not reveal why he is moving in the blog post and could not be reached for comment.

Brooks has been writing Midtown Lunch each day since June 2006.

Brooks has not released details of how he plans to keep the blog running from the other side of the country, but says that his devoted readers shouldn't worry as the site will continue to operate normally.

Brooks has also announced that the site will be expanding to cover Manhattan's downtown lunch area and Philadelphia by the end of this week.
