BATTERY PARK CITY— Goldman Sachs may be in the giving spirit this holiday season — their top executives will receive stock bonuses worth millions — but the protesters gathered outside their headquarters Wednesday morning can certainly expect coal.

Those that braved the winter cold expressed their discontent with the financial firm by mocking the bonus money in a customized holiday jingle.

“Goldman Sachs, banker hacks, bailouts every day,” the protesters caroled to the tune of “Jingle Bells.”

“Now it’s time to end this crime and make those bankers pay.”

Employees from the company’s newly completed $2.4 billion building on West Street gawked at the protesters from the floors above as they sang.

The Lion of Wall Street did make a goodwill gesture in deference to Wall Street's role in the financial crisis — the bonus stock Goldman C.E.O. Lloyd C. Blankfein and his management committee will receive cannot be cashed in for five years — but it was not enough for the group that gathered Wednesday.

“Goldman Sachs is paying out the largest amount of bonuses while people are losing their homes and unemployment is going up,” said Mireille Leroy from New York City For Change.

“They are getting money that could be used to help those losing their homes.”
