BATTERY PARK CITY— Neighborhood residents are putting World financial terminal in hot water due to increase noise complaints [WHAT KIND OF NOISE? ENGINES? BANGING? WHISTLES? WHAT TIME ARE THE NOISES?  ALL THE TIME?  EARLY MORNING?] that are driving residents nuts.

[DO WE HAVE REAX QUOTES FROM RESIDENTS?]

“It’s not just the noise, it reverberates in your chest to the point where I have anxiety attacks,” said Battery Park City resident Elizabeth Dornhofer. [IF IT'S NOT JUST THE NOISE, THERE MUST BE SOMETHING ELSE, TOO.  WHAT IS IT?]

Paul Goodman is a principal owner of Billybey [WHAT IS BILLYBEY? WHERE DOES IT PROVIDE SERVICE TO?] and spoke with board members and residents prior to the vote and admitted there was a change, “On Nov 2 two things happened that added the increase in noise; change in frequency and a different class of boat.” he said. [WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?]

The board unanimously passed a resolution stating there concern and requesting the results from their noise studies as well as requesting that Billybey revert back to the old schedule until the Goldman Sachs building begins full operation.[THEY ARE JUST CONCERNED? WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES FOR BILLYBEY?]

[WHAT NOISE STUDIES?]

Fran Miller lives on the 5th floor of Gateway[WHAT IS GATEWAY? WHY DOES SHE MATTER?] and says that most ferry’s are completely empty, and don’t even need to be running at this point. In addition she is frustrated with the process, “It’s a disgrace that we will have to go through this crap again on Dec 15th, it’s a simple solution change the ferry’s.” she said. [WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF DEC. 15?  WHY DOES THAT DATE MATTER?]

Goodman would not agree to re verifying to the old schedule and said a decision would be made after they collected the noise study data.[MORE INFORMATION ON THIS STUDY.  WHO IS CONDUCTING IT? WHEN ARE THE RESULTS DUE?]
