Police are looking for help from the public to help identify a teenage girl found wondering in Times Square with a case of amnesia.

"I just want to know who I am," the teen was quoted as saying in the New York Post. "I want to know who I am and what happened to me."

The girl was picked up by police on Oct. 9 outside the Covenant House shelter on W. 41st St., near the Port Authority Bus Terminal, the Post reported. She was wearing green army pants and had no identification on her.

Doctors do not believe she is from Manhattan and they estimate the girl is somewhere between the ages of 14 and 17. A fingerprint search came up empty, the paper reported.

The young Jane Doe claims she can't remember who she is, but in a bizarre twist, she does recall passages from a 2003 fantasy novel, "Fool's Fate."

The Administration for Children's Services has been unable to determine the girl's identity.

"She is safe with us, and we are doing all we can to help her, but she needs to find her family," ACS Commissioner John Mattingly told the Post.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the NYPD Missing Persons Squad at (212)-694-7781.
