Havoc on the FDR this Weekend for Emergency Repairs

By DNAinfo Staff on October 16, 2009 3:38pm

Drivers can expect mayhem on the east side on the weekend as the FDR undergoes emergency repairs between the Houston and 23rd Street exits.

FDR will be reduced to one lane northbound between the two exits from 11 p.m. Friday, before that stretch of the roadway is shut off completely at midnight. It will reopen at 8 a.m. Sunday.

Construction workers are continuing the emergency repairs that began in August.

Other road closures around this city this weekend include:

  • East End Avenue, between 84th and 88th Streets on Saturday for Gracie Square Art Show
  • Third Avenue, between 23rd and 34th Streets on Sunday for St. Stephen's Our Lady of the Scapular Street Festival
  • Lexington Avenue, between 79th and 96th Streets on Sunday for 92nd Street Y Festival
  • Madison Avenue, between 41st and 23rd Streets on Sunday for Muslim Foundation of America Parade and Festival
  • 51st Street, between Fifth and Tenth Avenues, on Sunday for Brotherhood of Our Lord of Miracles Celebration Parade
