The Culinary Center in New York City is hosting a series of six Italian cooking and language classes for kids, organized by The Italian American Committee on Education (IACE) and sponsored by the Italian food company Barilla.

As part of the campaign to fight childhood obesity, the classes aim to teach kids ages 10 to 15 how to eat and cook healthy foods. They will learn healthy recipes alongside renowned chef Cesare Casella, who is Dean of The School of Italian Studies at The International Culinary Center, and chef-owner of Salumeria Rosi.

In addition to cooking lessons, the students will also learn about the Mediterranean lifestyle and the foods that are part of its diet.

Each of the six sessions will have about 70 students, and will be taught in English and Italian by chef-instructors from the School of Italian Studies at The International Culinary Center.

Casella's Italian cooking class will run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m
