Police Hunt Suspect Seen Using ATM Card of Murdered Chelsea Man

By Wil Cruz | March 6, 2012 7:52am

CHELSEA — Cops have released a man they grilled for hours in connection with the weekend killing of event planner John Laubach, an NYPD spokesman said.

They also issued images of another man they want to speak to, captured by surveillance video at a nearby bank as he allegedly trying to use the dead man's ATM card.

The person they questioned and released Monday had been caught on security footage from an elevator camera in the building where Laubach, 57, lived at 212 W. 22nd St., police said.

Laubach's was found bound by an electrical cord and gagged with tape by a female friend in his apartment Friday. His face was covered by a towel, too, cops said at the time.

No one has been arrested in the killing.
