QUEENS — A 62-year-old woman was injured when she was hit by a city bus in South Richmond Hill Tuesday.
The woman was struck by a Q10 bus as it made a left turn from Lefferts Boulevard onto Rockaway Boulevard at about 8:15 p.m., said MTA spokesman Kevin Ortiz.
"She was thrown clear of the bus to the ground," Ortiz said in an e-mail.
The unidentified victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital, police and transit officials said.
An NYPD spokesman said she suffered a cut to her face. Her injury did not appear to be life-threatening, he said.
There was no criminality in the accident, police said.
The incident comes just a week after two people were killed in separate accidents involving MTA buses in Queens and Harlem.
On Feb. 22, Meilan Jin, 22, died after a Q44 bus turned into her as she crossed Northern Boulevard and Union Street in Flushing. The driver left the scene, unaware she had hit Jin, officials said at the time.
Less than 24 hours later, Willie Gonzalez, 25, was walking south on St. Nicholas Avenue when he was fatally struck by an M60 at W. 125th Street, police and transit officials said. The driver of that bus remained at the scene.
Police did not charge the drivers in either accident, but the MTA was conducting its own probe into the incidents. Ortiz said the investigations were ongoing.
