A substitute teacher at Bronx Career and College Prep High School has been accused of forcibly touching a student.
Chukwuma Duru, 27, was charged with forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child, the Department of Education said.
The DOE said the incident does not appear to be sexual, but Duru was removed from the school after the alleged assault, which took place Feb. 9.
A DOE spokeswoman said Duru began working as a substitute teacher in the fall of 2011.
Bronx Career and College Prep High School shares a campus with Dr. Richard Izquierdo Health and Science Charter School, where a teacher was arrested for allegedly punching a 12-year-old girl last week.
The allegations against Duru are the latest against school employees this month.
Last week, Wilbert Cortez, 49, was arrested and charged with fondling two male students at P.S. 174 in Rego Park.
A teacher’s assistant at P.S. 87 is also accused of molesting a young boy the week before.
