MIDTOWN — A construction worker fell 15 feet at a work site on 57th Street and Third Avenue Monday, officials said.
The worker fell about 9:20 a.m. at 201 East 57th Street, fire and building officials said.
"He had his harness on but he wasn't hooked in," said iron worker Vern McBride, 47, of Forest Hills, who saw the accident from about 10 feet away.
"He fell head first. He was hanging by his feet, swinging."
McBride said he dislocated his shoulder, but was not bleeding. The injuries didn't appear to be life-threatening, fire officials said.
"He was awake and conscious," a fire official said.
Investigators from the Department of Buildings were on scene.
