MANHATTAN — Snow is on the way to the city. But don't break out the sleds quite yet.
The storm expected to blow through New York late Friday night will only drop about 2 inches of snow before it tapers off mid-afternoon on Saturday, according to AccuWeather.
The precipitation is expected to start off as rain about 10 p.m. Friday and then change to snow by 2 a.m. Saturday, according to AccuWeather.
Temperatures will stay in the low 30s overnight Friday and will rise to 39 degrees by mid-afternoon Saturday.
Manhattan has seen very little snow so far this winter, with just 4.3 inches falling in Central Park during a Jan. 21 storm.
The weekend's stormy weather won't stick around long. By Sunday morning the sun will be back, and the temperature will be the low 30s, according to AccuWeather.
