MANHATTAN — The wife of Yankees GM Brian Cashman reportedly filed for divorce this week amid a scandal involving a woman charged with stalking and trying to extort the Bronx Bombers bigwig

Mary Cashman, 42, filed divorce papers in Connecticut where the couple lives Friday — a day after a TriBeCa woman who claimed she had a romantic relationship with Cashman, 44, appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court on the charges, the New York Post reported.

British native Louise Neathway, 36, who also goes by the surname Meanwell, threatened to "damage [Cashman’s] personal relationships and professional reputation" if he did not fork over $15,000 for a medical procedure as part of a “long-term” scheme against the Yanks’ general manager, prosecutors and court documents said.

Louise Neathway, 36, appears in Manhattan Criminal Court on Feb. 2, 2012 to face charges of stalking, harassing and extorting Yankees GM Brian Cashman.

Mary Cashman is seeking to split the couple’s property and wants joint custody of their 13-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son, the Post reported.

She has reportedly been living separate from the Yankees honcho in the couple’s multimillion-dollar Darien, Conn., mansion with the children.

Neathway, who has previous arrests for stalking and harassment dating back to 1998, claimed she was dating Cashman during her court appearance Thursday.

The woman was ordered by a Manhattan judge to stay away from Cashman and his family, as well as other individuals whose connection to the case is unclear.

The petite blond faces multiple criminal counts of grand larceny, harassment and stalking, as well as grand larceny for allegedly trying to extort thousands from the longtime general manager.

Cashman paid her $6,000 in two separate transactions on Jan. 18 before Neathway began sending him a barrage of emails demanding $15,000 for the unspecified medical work.

Neathway told friends she had a nearly yearlong affair with Cashman and that she ended the relationship when he backed out of a promise to leave his wife for her, the Post reported.

She scored tickets to Yankees game and sat with the players’ families, as well as visiting Cashman at his Yankee Stadium office, the Post added.

Neathway is being held at Rikers Island on $200,000 bail.
