BROOKLYN — A 26-year-old Brooklyn mother has been arrested for abandoning her two young daughters on a street in Canarsie, authorities said Monday.

Dalisha Adams was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child for leaving her two young daughters, ages 5 and 3, at 5995 Shore Parkway Sunday about 2:45 p.m. — about a dozen blocks from their home on Glenwood Road.

"They were unable to provide any pedigree information to the police, aside from their first names," said a police source.

The girls, who were not named, were not hurt, police said. They were taken to Brookdale Hospital.

A spokeswoman for the Administration for Children's Services said their children were in their care. She declined to say if Adams had any history with the agency.

It was unclear why Adams allegedly abandoned the girls, which was first reported in the Daily News. She was awaiting arraignment Monday.
