Police Hunt Suspect in Washington Heights Slashing Robbery

MANHATTAN — Police are hunting a man suspected of viciously slashing an elderly woman in the face and chest after robbing her in a Washington Heights alley last week.

The suspect approached the 65-year-old women in an alleyway behind 730 W. 180th St. last Weds., Dec., 7, about 8:30 p.m. as she was taking out her trash, police said.

He demanded the woman’s keys, wallet and phone, the NYPD said.

The man then pulled out a knife and slashed the woman multiple times on the face and chest before fleeing the scene, police said.

The victim was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, treated and released, police added.

The suspect is described as between 25 and 30 years old, standing approximately 5-foot-1 and weighing 135 pounds, with brown eyes, black hair worn in ponytail and two teardrop tattoos below his left eye, police said.
