MANHATTAN — Smart Alec.

Actor Alec Baldwin took to "Saturday Night Live" to poke fun at his recent row with a California airline crew, which admonished him for refusing to stop playing a video game on his phone before takeoff.

The "30 Rock" star and frequent SNL guest, was booted from an American Airlines flight in Los Angeles on Dec. 6 for refusing to stop playing the Scrabble-like game "Words with Friends."

Playing Capt. Steve Rogers on the "Weekend Update" segment, Baldwin took the opportunity to apologize to...himself.

"Mr. Baldwin is an American treasure and I am ashamed at the way he was treated," a mustachioed Baldwin donning an airline captain's uniform said with a Southern twang.

"What harm would it do to let him keep playing his game…not any game, mind you, but a word game, a game for smart people."

Aboard the plane at LAX, Baldwin went on a Twitter tantrum, blasting the flight attendants as "Catholic school gym teachers from the 1950s" among other rants, but has since abandoned the social networking site.

When SNL star Seth Meyers asked Baldwin about slamming the bathroom door aboard the flight, the actor shot back: "Now Seth, 'Words with Friends' can be frustrating."

And asked if he was worried about the flap delaying the flight, Baldwin said that it was par for the course for the now-bankrupt American Airlines.

"And it was the first time in the history of American Airlines that one of our flights was delayed…Come on Seth!

"We’re bankrupt. How dare we speak ill of the great Alec Baldwin."
