MANHATTAN — A thief slipped off with a $100,000 Rolex, among other treasures, from the Plaza Hotel room of a Dubai princess, sources said.

The princess — Arwa Al Qassimi, according to the Wall Street Journal — returned to her room at the storied hotel, on Fifth Avenue and Central Park South, at around 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 and found that three bags were missing along with the watch, jewelry, an iPad and a phone for a total of $231,000 in stolen goods.

Sources said that investigators believe the door to the room was not locked because of a malfunction in the door mechanism.

There were no signs of forced entry.

The embassy of the United Arab Emirates, which includes Dubai, did not immediately respond to a call for comment.

A representative for the Plaza Hotel also did not immediately respond to a call for comment.
