MIDTOWN — A man was struck and killed by a train at a Midtown subway station Thursday afternoon, sources said.

The man was hit by a Queens-bound E train at the 42nd Street-Port Authority Terminal station just before 4:30 p.m., according to the MTA.

A source said he had jumped into the train's path.

"One minute he was on the platform, and the next he was in front of the train," said a witness at the scene.

C trains were running express from Canal Street to 59th Street and E trains were running express from Canal Street to 42nd Street.

Delays were expected.
