MANHATTAN — A motorcyclist was killed in Hell's Kitchen Wednesday afternoon when he tried to swerve around a cab to make a turn, authorities said.

The horrific accident unfolded on 11th Avenue and 44th Street just after 2 p.m., according to the FDNY.

Sources said that the cab, driven by a 22-year-old man, was traveling south on 11th Avenue when the driver tried to turn onto 44th Street.

That's when the motorcyclist, 48, who was riding behind him on a 2010 Kawasaki, tried to swerve around, plowing into the side of the taxi after veering into oncoming traffic.

The motorcyclist, whose identity was not immediately known, was taken to Roosevelt Hospital with serious injuries and later died.

Thierno Bah, 42, who works as a mechanic nearby, said that rescue workers were trying to resuscitate the biker.

"The guy was under the cab," he said. "I felt sorry for the guy."

Police said that the cab stayed on the scene and there appeared to be no criminality in the incident.
