SOHO — A taxi careened into scaffolding on Watts Street Sunday afternoon after colliding with another car, witnesses and authorities said.

The FDNY said that there were four injuries in the crash, near Varick Street, just before noon, including two people who were in serious condition. But police said that everyone refused medical attention.

The driver of the cab, who cops said was carrying five passengers, was traveling south on Varick Street when he stepped on the brakes as he approached a red light, he told DNAinfo.

The road was slick from the rain and he skidded into the intersection where he collided with a 2009 Acura Integra traveling west on Watts Street, sending him into the scaffolding.

The driver of the Acura, who was heading back to New Jersey, said that the impact of the collision sent her spinning around, leaving her facing oncoming traffic on Varick.

Cops said that there was no criminality suspected in the incident.

The taxi had to remain in place until workers could ensure that the scaffolding was in good shape.
